As part of my third year UWE project I created a triptych of infographic posters displaying the dissonance of Wars, Weapons and Wealth. By using quotes and conflicting facts I aimed to create a sense of cognitive dissonance with the audience. Seeing a quote can easily sway a reader to believe such statements as a matter of fact – a truth – but this is usually not the case. On the other hand figures can also be cherrypicked and aimed to mislead. With these three cases, the two “opinions” contradict and conflict leaving the audience with a choice to make.
